Showcasing Applied Skills in Agricultural Engineering

The Sequoyah County Jr. Livestock Show Ag Mechanics Competition provides an opportunity for local 4-H and FFA members to demonstrate advanced competencies in design, fabrication, and project management. This annual event highlights the essential role of agricultural mechanics in supporting rural economies and sustaining modern agricultural operations.

Participants plan, construct, and present projects that reflect both technical proficiency and practical application. Entries range from livestock handling equipment and custom trailers to outdoor structures and conservation tools, each evaluated on workmanship, design integrity, documentation, and safety.

    All activities will be conducted at the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

  • Participant Eligibility

    The competition is open to Sequoyah County 4-H and FFA members who are in good standing. All projects must be student-constructed, with documentation and photographic evidence required to verify progress and completion.

    Entries are categorized by function and construction type, including but not limited to:

    • Agricultural Machinery and Equipment

    • Livestock Equipment

    • Outdoor Recreation and Convenience

    • Wildlife Equipment

    • Decorative and Woodworking Projects

  • Awards and Recognition

    Division Champions and Reserve Champions will receive banners and designated prizes. The Grand and Reserve Grand Champion projects are eligible for inclusion in the Premium Sale. Participants may enter one project for sale, either livestock or Ag Mechanics.

  • Exhibitor Requirements

    • All projects must be structurally complete, properly finished, and safe for public display.

    • Exhibitors are required to wear official FFA or 4-H attire during judging.

    • Comprehensive documentation, including original plans, materials lists, and progress photos, must be submitted at check-in.
